All I Need to Know I Learned From My Hairdresser
Yesterday I got my hair cut. I have a great hairstylist downtown. (I may as well go ahead and name them, it's Barberella.)
Among the many things that I like about this particular stylist is that she does something very unusual: she doesn't try to sell you hair products.
Anyone who's had their hair cut at a salon knows that being sold expensive and often useless hair products is just part of the game. It always used to make me uncomfortable when my old stylist would start to rave about the product she was working through my hair. It didn't matter that I had about a dozen half-used jars of similar gunk at home. I felt pressured to buy one more.
